Kelly House
Overview
Kelly House is a therapeutic home for women with substance abuse problems who are pregnant or have infants up to six months old. Kelly House is a safe, structured home-like environment where the journey of recovery begins.
Our residents participate in Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment specifically designed to meet the unique needs and issues of a mother or pregnant woman in recovery. Individualized treatment at Kelly House includes individual and group counseling, substance abuse education, participation in 12- Step Recovery Programs, Parenting Skills and other approaches as determined by client need.
Community Support services are offered each woman to assist her in maximizing her ability to attain self-sufficiency. Clinical staff will assist in linking with community resources as well as prenatal medical care, well- baby check ups and any other medical care required.
About Kelly House
Kelly House is named in honor of Mary Kelly, a much beloved substance abuse professional who has dedicated her life’s work to advocating for people seeking to recover from substance abuse – especially women. Mary is now retired but still remains extremely proactive on behalf of the recovering community.
The Kelly House is a program of East Coast Solutions, a private non-profit organization whose mission is to provide substance abuse treatment, education and support to individuals and families, to improve their ability to be drug-free, self-sufficient residents within their communities.
Kelly House is supported by private and public funds; including a contract through the Southeastern Center LME. Donations from private citizens, churches and businesses are welcomed and much appreciated.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the Kelly House Program, applicants must:
Be pregnant or have an infant six months old or younger.
Have a substance abuse diagnosis according to the DSM-IV-TR criteria.
ccBe 18 years of age or older.
ccBe abstinent from drugs and alcohol.
ccPossess some form of identification.
ccBe referred by a physician or a professional agency such as Social Services or another treatment ccprovider.
ccBe willing to comply with house rules and to submit to random drug and alcohol screening.
ccBe willing to comply with a treatment plan for any and
Priority Polulations
Priority admission is given to:
1) Pregnant IV drug users
2) Pregnant women currently using drugs or alcohol
3) IV drug users
4) All adult women with a substance abuse diagnosis who have custody or are seeking custody of their child or children.
