New Visions Program

At New Visions

doveWe are dedicated to the reduction of infant mortality and morbidity and helping families in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender Counties to have healthy babies.
This begins with healthy women of childbearing age.  When a mother has a problem with substance abuse, this may contribute significantly to her child’s health.  Substance abuse is a treatable disease.
Through the help of a number of agencies, we provide services and supports to empower women to obtain help.  In turn, this will help increase the potential of having and raising healthy children.  We focus on prevention, education and rehabilitation.

Mission Statement

New Visions is a Gender Specific Intensive Substance Abuse Program serving pregnant women and women with children.  Our mission is to reduce the barriers that interfere with a woman’s ability to access treatment and to provide a supportive environment to facilitate healing and to develop a drug-free family.

Philosohpy

New Visions is committed to treating each woman with dignity and respect.  We believe that chemical dependency is a chronic and progressive illness, not a moral weakness.

Goals

  1. Reduce barriers to women’s ability to access treatment.
  2. Introduce women to skills and information to facilitate change.
  3. Treat the family as a system to enhance the experience for all.

If a woman does not fit our profile, another treatment recommendation or referral will be provided.
