What is Stepping Stone Manor?Stepping Stone Manor is a six month recovery program for men dealing with substance abuse problems. Stepping Stone Manor began in October of 1975 and was founded by a group of men and women in recovery who wanted to help others like themselves. Since its opening, Stepping Stone has served men primarily from southeastern North Carolina. The program serves 16 men by providing room and board, meals and counseling for the residents through their six month stay. In addition, Stepping Stone Manor is licensed by the State of North Carolina Division of Health Services Regulation. Stepping Stone Manor is a program of East Coast Solutions, a private non-profit organization whose mission is to proved substance abuse treatment, education and support to individuals and families to improve their ability to be drug-free, self-sufficient residents within their community.
What should I expectIndividuals are screened and interviewed to determine appropriateness for admission to Stepping Stone Manor. You must be willing to comply with all house rules and regulations. A non-refundable registration fee is required as well as small fee for room and board. Residents attend five 12-step meetings per week, observe curfews, do house hold chores and obey house rules. Substance abuse counseling is offered to residents. Case Management links clients with community resources providing services to assist them in their recovery. Stepping Stone has a zero tolerance policy and does random drug-screenings; however the home-like atmosphere creates a safe, comfortable place that aids the clients in regaining their self-respect and dignity. |
